IVF success tied to insurance coverage

(Reuters Health) - Women who have insurance coverage for in vitro fertilization (IVF) may be more likely to have a baby than women who have to pay entirely out-of-pocket for fertility treatments, a U.S. study suggests.

  1. The age of the woman is the single biggest factor affecting the success of an IVF procedure. This is because the quality and/or quantity of a woman’s eggs reduce as she grows older.
